RGB Gaming Keyboard with Volume Knob: Worth It?

This post is part of my activities with AliExpress, and I may receive a commission for purchases made through links in this content.

I recently picked up the Gaming Keyboard Mouse Kit 100% Layout Spanish Russian Arabic Keyboard RGB Light Gamer Volume Knob USB Wired K90 104 Keys Ergonom, hoping to upgrade my home setup with something that looked flashy but still offered solid functionality for both gaming and daily tasks. I was particularly drawn to the inclusion of the volume knob, which is always a massive convenience, and the promise of RGB lighting to give my desk that necessary gamer aesthetic.

When it arrived, I immediately started testing things out. The aesthetic is definitely there; the RGB light show looks great, and the layout is full 104 keys, which is standard. The volume knob is as handy as I hoped it would be—a definite plus for quickly adjusting audio levels without fiddling with software.

However, I quickly noticed a few quirks, especially concerning the specialized layout. While it claims to support Spanish, some critical characters were missing or misplaced on the keys, which is frustrating if you rely on specific international symbols. Other buyers seem to feel similarly about the key mapping issues on this specific version.

Functionally, it works, but here’s the crucial detail: don't expect a true mechanical experience with this K90 model. It’s definitely membrane under the hood, which some users might find disappointing if they were expecting tactile feedback. Despite this, for the price point, it performs adequately—I like it for what it is, even if it wasn't quite what I initially expected based on some descriptions floating around.

I did see a couple of reports about arrival damage or keys not working, so quality control might be inconsistent, though mine arrived functional.

So, who should buy this product? If you prioritize a flashy RGB setup, the convenience of a dedicated volume knob, and a wired, full-sized board, and you aren't overly sensitive about deep mechanical feel or perfect international key mapping, this kit could be a decent budget pick. If you need a precise, high-end mechanical experience, you might want to look elsewhere.

Overall, while there are definite compromises, this Gaming Keyboard Mouse Kit still delivers on its core promise of being an affordable, illuminated peripheral with some nice features. For casual use and decent looks, I still recommend checking out this K90 model.
